The Author
Judy SchneiderJudy has been involved in education for over 30 years. She's taught at elementary, secondary and adult levels, and pioneered a team-teaching program for the Seattle School District. Judy taught middle school in Watts for the Los Angeles School District, and created a summer school program for the Issaquah School District. She is the creator of Line Puppetry™, an art and drama method for motivating students, and is the co-author of many original classroom plays. She is a founding partner of Catalytic Publications, a company that has provided art and drama workshops for over 5000 elementary students and teacher-training workshops for school districts and conferences. Judy is also a parent and grandmother and lives in Seattle with her husband, John, and their dog Sophie.

The Illustrator
Mary WeeksMary is a summa cum laude graduate in Illustration from Cornish College of the Arts. She is a freelance illustrator specializing in watercolors and the stipple style of pen and ink drawing. She's the illustrator of "Making Connections," a book for dancers, and has also done product illustration, logo design and promotional materials for Seattle area businesses and non-profit organizations such as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She has taught reading and math to elementary students with learning disabilities through a Title I grant and for over six years, introduced master painters and their works to students as an art docent. She, too, is a parent and grandmother and currently teaches watercolors to adults through a local communiversity program. Mary and her husband Larry live in Snoqualmie, Washington with their dachshund puppy, Atilla.
